I've been a chef, automobile auction clerk, professional domestic, chauffeur, caterer, cement garden statuary maker, substitute teacher, gardener, personal assistant, stable hand, bartender, although not in that order. Now I'm a writer.
Or should I say, I've always written. Those other occupations always stood in the way of my writing.
I used to live on the beach in Rhode Island. Now I live in the mountains of North Carolina with my daughter, my mother, and a cat named Henry David Thoreau.
I miss the beach, which is why I write about it and the people, landmarks, and food that I used to know. It keeps the salt water in my blood.
